How Green Are We?

The only industry that recycles more than us are the direct paper, can, and glass recyclers!

  • Kleen-A-Matic ‘s Environmental Protection Policies:

    • Over 8 tons of plastic bagging has been kept out of landfills by our decision in 2007 to only provide this protection to garments when requested by customer
    • Our coat hanger recycling project is estimated to save over 100,000 hangers annually.  That is over 7000 lbs. of metal prevented from going to the landfill.
    • Our waste-water reuse program saves about 20% of our fresh water use each year.  That amounts to over 1.5 million gallons of fresh potable water not going down the drain.
    • Kleen-A-Matic’s heat reclamation system saves over 20,000 cubic feet of natural gas each year.  That is enough to heat an average house for 3 months in the winter.
    • Upgrading our delivery fleet from gasoline to diesel saves over 12% in fuel use annually.   That means less air pollutants and much energy conservation.
    • Of course, our whole business model is based upon re-use and recycling of textiles and garments
    • Other specific ways Kleen-A-Matic conserves the environment
      • Use of biodegradable plastic wrap
      • Use of highly efficient steam traps to recycle waste heat
      • Use of insulation on piping to prevent heat from escaping to the atmosphere
      • Use of “re-sellers” to recycle our “out-of-service” garments
      • Offer out-of-service” towels and linens to recyclers
      • We hold corrugated cardboard, paper, aluminum cans, and plastic for recycling

As a Kleen-A-Matic customer, you will make an important decision to work with us to help conserve the resources of our planet.    We thank you in advance for your participation in that effort!
